Student Apartment Renovation

Located in Wan Chai, May Wah Mansion is a traditional tenement house with 50 years of history. The building is known as “Corner Building”, which embraces its corner with a curved facade less than 90°. They represent a certain slice of Hong Kong vernacular architecture and are considered part of Hong Kong’s modern heritage.

We renovated this 40m² apartment in about a month’s time, aiming to bring a new vibe and a better co-living experience to students who live here. We emphasize equality and engagement by making an equal amount of storage for each student and creating a social-interaction-friendly common area. We also bring in greens to improve the air quality and relieve the tension of staying at home too long during the Covid 19.
