After graduating with degrees in Journalism and Marketing, I worked in the digital media industry for a period of time. Back then, I used to believe that following the trend and becoming a digital specialist was an exciting career option for me. As a freshman, my key priorities were a good salary and advancement opportunities, so I didn't pay much thought to my true interests and talent.

Despite my efforts to match people's expectations, I discovered that accolades and promotions did not offer me satisfaction or contentment. Instead, I was exhausted and disoriented all of the time. I gradually realised that what I did for my work contradicted my personal values and beliefs.

I took some time off and had the opportunity to reflect on my life over the last few years and rethink my genuine interest. I also conducted research online, read books, and spoke with friends and mentors. During that time, I was inspired by a book called Ikigai, which encouraged me to discover meaning at work and to live with purpose. To get my life back on track, I decided to make some changes.

I started thinking about what I truly value and appreciate. I've always been interested in design and tried to get involved in design initiatives at work. After serious consideration, I chose to save money and attend design school to get some proper training. Despite the fact that I had a lot of catching up and hard work, I had a great time!

After two years of school and internship, I was finally offered a job as an interior designer for a Japanese architecture firm. I consider myself extremely fortunate to have had numerous opportunities to work on various projects while learning a great deal. I gradually improved my design abilities and expertise. It's been the most rewarding two years of my life.

After more than a decade in Hong Kong, I believe it is time for some new perspectives and challenges. Moving to the UK provides me with the opportunity to learn about other cultures and enjoy diverse aesthetics. I believe it will help me improve as a designer both personally and professionally. I am quite excited to begin my new adventure here!
Interior Designer
I am grateful that I discovered my true passion as an interior designer about four years ago. Before moving to the UK, I spent two years working for a Japanese architecture firm. Learning to appreciate Japanese aesthetics and timeless design has been a rewarding journey.
